The Scripture - 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

“We don’t give to a church—we give to God, and He uses our generosity to change lives.”
In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. (Malachi 3:9-10)
In Malachi 3:10, God does something remarkable—He invites His people to test Him in the area of giving. This is not a challenge born out of doubt, but an invitation to trust His faithfulness. When we give as an act of obedience and worship, we acknowledge that everything we have comes from Him.
Giving is not about loss; it is about alignment with God’s purposes. As we faithfully support the work of God’s house, He promises provision, protection, and blessing—not only materially, but spiritually. The “open windows of heaven” speak of God’s abundant care and His ability to meet our needs beyond what we can imagine.
This promise is not a formula or a transaction, but a relationship. God blesses cheerful, willing hearts and uses our generosity to bless others and advance His Kingdom. When we give in faith, we step into God’s divine economy—where obedience releases blessing and trust is met with His faithfulness.
